When I got together some cash I went down to a dealership near me and picked up a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900. It's the perfect bike for someone first starting out with because it is a lighter 900cc bike for easier handling but it also offers the fuel economy of 45-50 miles per gallon depending on the bike load, terrain and riding style. Even if you're just riding around like a speed demon you're going to get 45mpg.

That's right, I added on a StreetFX lighting kit.

Everywhere I go I have people, mostly ladies smile, telling me how great the bike looks and how they really like how the lights look.

And it's an easy garage project that will take about an hour to set up once you figure out where you want the lights to go on the bike.

However, I'd recommend putting the kit on during the daylight hours unless you have a car garage that you can work in to provide good lighting. Your neck gets kind of sore holding a flashlight when your hands are working.

I spent years in college earning a degree in broadcast and decided I'd work for a local ABC TV station. The draw back is that I found out that if you're not in a large TV market or in sales that you aren't even going to be paid as well as high school janitor.

So, when the gas prices shot up my big Chevy 1500 was really burning through my cash with the $80 fill-ups each week.

I had wanted a motorcycle since I was a little kid playing with a little Lego motorcycle cop and I thought now would be the perfect time to buy a bike.

And let me tell you, it sure filled a void in life. It's so liberating to be able to travel where you want when you want without worrying about burning through $100 worth of gasoline.

If you want to add a little spice to your bike, then definitely pick up some StreetFX ElectroPods that match your bike's paint scheme. Not only do they look cool, but you can leave them turned on while you run into a place and know that people will be able to see your bike even in the darkest parking spots so they don't bump into your ride.
